This article analyzes the socio-demographic processes observed in the Lower AmuDarya geodemographic district and their specific features. In particular, it studies the impact of environmental problems associated with the drying up of the Aral Sea on population health, density,
urbanization level, natural increase and migration processes. At the same time, socio-economic indicators of the Republic of Karakalpakstan and Khorezm regions in the Lower AmuDarya geodemographic district are compared, and the dynamics of morbidity, mortality and birth rates among the population are analyzed. Relevant recommendations and conclusions are made on the economic, demographic and environmental problems of the region.
