The article describes the psychological changes that occur in the process of women’s adaptation to political, social and economic reforms carried out in society. The main attention is focused on different views, causes and interpretations of the concept of women’s social activity, which have become the subject of discussions among representatives of various fields. accordance with this, the psychological characteristics associated with the social activity of a woman, the factors influencing her, values and the author from a theoretical and practical point of view distinguishes life strategies.

This article reveals the main sociological theories of elderly and aging processes, their main scientific ideas and foundations in the study of gerontological problems.
