Epidemiology of suicide in the world: risk factors and gender paradoxes

Abstract

The Data from the WHO Global Observatory and the PubMed Electronic Library have been used to analyze the worldwide epidemiology of suicides over a 20-year period and to review literature on suicide risk factors. The data received let us form a general picture of the epidemiology of suicides in the world, taking into account gender and age differences, as well as information on high-risk groups for preventive measures
